Why we did this
Hazardous area compliance breaks at the handover
Most sites do not have a compliance problem. They have a joins problem. The trainer, the inspector, the electrical crew and the dossier custodian are four different companies, and the gaps between them are where the non-conformances live.
Trained, then unsupported
A crew comes back from a course competent on paper, then hits equipment the course never covered, with nobody to call. Competency without field backup fades inside a shutdown.
Findings with no crew behind them
An inspection produces a register of non-conformances and stops there. The report sits open while somebody scopes a second contractor to close it out, and the next audit finds the same items.
The dossier drifts
Equipment is changed in the field faster than the dossier is updated. By the time verification comes around, the record and the plant no longer agree, and the reconciliation costs more than the original work.

Area classification and design review
Hazardous area classification, classification drawings, equipment selection and design review against the AS/NZS 60079 series. This is the stage that sets every obligation downstream — get the zone wrong and every inspection after it is measuring against the wrong standard.
Competency and accredited training
Nationally accredited EEHA training under RTO 51160, for electrical, instrumentation and non-electrical personnel, plus verification of competency and online refreshers. Competency is the one control that has to be current before anyone touches the equipment.
Ex installation and maintenance
Licensed electrical and instrumentation crews installing and maintaining Ex equipment to the certification and the installation standard, with rope access where the equipment is not reachable from the deck. Documented as it is installed, not reconstructed afterwards.
Inspection to AS/NZS 60079.17
Visual, close and detailed inspection, sample or full register, resourced against realistic throughput rather than an optimistic rate. Both businesses run inspection teams, which means peak demand and shutdown windows can be met without dropping the inspection grade.
Rectification and close-out
The stage most programmes stall at. Findings go straight to an E&I crew already on the contract, with rope access and QA/QC attached, so the non-conformance register closes instead of carrying forward to the next audit.
Dossier, audit and sustainment
Dossier build and maintenance, dossier audits, verification against the standard, and the competency refresh cycle that keeps the whole thing current. This is where the partnership matters most: the record, the plant and the people stay in agreement.

What actually changes for you
One scope, one mobilisation, one set of insurances and prequalification to run through. Your inspectors are trained to the standard the people inspecting your plant are working to, because it is the same standard and increasingly the same building. When an inspection produces findings, the crew that closes them out is already on the contract.

Training rooms, workshop and crews on the same site
MOXI has moved into Haztech's Osborne Park facility. Purpose-built EEHA training rooms upstairs, workshop and equipment space below, and the field crews mobilising from the same yard. Perth-based clients can train a crew, inspect a sample and scope a rectification package in the same visit.

The partnership, plainly
Have the two companies merged?
No. Haztech Solutions and MOXI HA Services remain separate businesses with their own contracts, insurances and accreditations. What has changed is that we now scope, mobilise and deliver together, so you are not managing the join between a training provider and a field services contractor.
How long have you been working together?
Since 2025. The partnership was covered in the July 2025 issue of The Australian Mining Review and we have been delivering combined scopes since. What has changed this year is that MOXI has moved into Haztech's Osborne Park facility, so the training rooms, the workshop and the field crews now run from one site.
We already use one of you. Does anything change?
Nothing you have in place changes. Your existing contract, rates and contacts stay exactly as they are. The partnership adds capability you can draw on when you want it — it does not require you to re-contract anything.
Can we still buy just the training, or just the inspection?
Yes. The services are still sold separately and priced separately. Most clients start with one and pull the other in when a gap shows up.
How do you handle a large equipment register?
By modelling the resourcing before quoting it. Realistic throughput on a detailed inspection is a known number, so a register in the tens of thousands is a multi-inspector problem, not a rate problem. We will show you the resourcing assumption in the proposal rather than hiding it inside a lump sum.
Do you work outside Western Australia?
Yes. Both Haztech and MOXI are Perth based, however both deliver across Australia and internationally.
What does a coverage review involve?
A short conversation, no charge. We walk through your classification status, competency currency, inspection cycle and dossier condition, and tell you which of the four is your weakest link. Often the answer is that you do not need us yet, which is a useful thing to know.
